How to Add Text and Titles in DaVinci Resolve

In this article, I’m going to explain how to add text in DaVinci Resolve.

Would you like the good news or the good news?

Firstly, you’ll be pleased to hear that adding text on Resolve is really very simple.

Secondly, I have no intention of wasting your precious time by making you read a 3000-word article to explain something so simple.

Are you ready?

Good.

First, make sure that you’re on the Edit page.

1. Click on Effect Library, in the top left.

2. Scroll down to the Titles section. Alternatively, you can also type "text" directly into the search bar.

3. Drag the text element to the timeline.

4. At this point, you’ll be able to enter your required text in the window in the the top right.

5. The text window offers additional options, such as changing font, colour, text size, etc.

6. Once you have entered the text, you can decide to lengthen or shorten the text clip as you like.
